"He leads me in the paths of righteousness"

Jesus Christ is the Lord our Shepherd. In Him is life and life more abundantly. He is the way, the truth, and the life and no one comes to know the Heavenly Father except through Him. Again, He is the path.

Mount Everest is the tallest mountain on earth, and so it has been the target of conquest for many a climber. Someone was first to climb to the top of it. Then came others who followed in the way made by the first. Our Lord Jesus was the first to conquer death, Hell, and sin opening a pathway to the Kingdom of God for whosoever will follow after Him.

The Shepherd of Psalm 23 has done more than make a way. He is the way. He is our highway to Heaven. Christ is our peace and the Greater One Who has made us more than conquerors.

Those who followed after the first man to climb Everest still risked their lives and many died without reaching the summit. We who are in Christ have reached the peak of Heaven, as Heaven has come to live within us.

Jesus does not lead you to righteousness: He leads you in righteousness. Righteousness is not a destination to come, but a revelation to explore. You are cleansed by Christ's blood, for He is the righteous road, the only Way. Jesus is your Heaven, as you walk through the earth.

Christ has spanned the gulf between you and your Heavenly Father. You don't replicate His salvation; you receive it. You have died with Him. You are raised with Him. Receive the end of your faith, be at peace and rest in hope, traversing this world on a highway of holiness, a unbreakable path no one can take from you.

Scriptural Context

Psalms 23:1-6 NKJV A Psalm of David. The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. (2) He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters. (3) He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness, For His name's sake. (4) Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. (5) You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil; My cup runs over. (6) Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me All the days of my life; And I will dwell in the house of the LORD Forever.
